Nearly three years ago the startups that attended the first edition of 4 Years From Now laid the foundation for what is now one of the world’s most important international startup and entrepreneurship congresses.

Since late October all the details have been coming out regarding the third edition of the event that promises to be an extraordinary celebration of innovation, where the best entrepreneurial initiatives will be rewarded. New internationally renowned speakers have been added to the recently disclosed list of the first names: Werner Vogels, vice-president and Chief Technology Officer at Amazon, Bracken Darrell, CEO of Logitech, Andrew Bolwell, Chief Disruptive Officer at Hewlett Packard, and David Sable, CEO of Young & Rubicam, join the line-up of speakers at 4YFN 2016, which had already booked Nicola Mendelsohn, Vice-president of EMEA at Facebook, and Israel Ruiz, Executive Vice-president and Treasurer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), among others.

This year Founders & Investors, the forum designed to facilitate contact between selected startups and investors, will also draw on support from the 4YFN Investors Club, created to promote business opportunities in the digital industry. At the third edition of 4YFN the rounds of meetings with investors through Founders & Investors will be more precisely organised, as they will take into account the sectors of each startup and the level of funding they require when it comes to matching them up with investors. There will also be micro-stages with open mikes, like at a “speaker’s corner,” allowing them to present projects to the general public.

Taking advantage of the “speed-dating” format employed by the Founders & Investors sessions, 4YFN 2016 will be debuting Pitch the Press, an opportunity for startups to present their projects to the media. In this way the journalists attending the event will have their very own space to interact with entrepreneurs and startups, while it will also serve to enhance the media presence of all interested entrepreneurs and startups.

4YFN 2016, a mecca for entrepreneurship and innovation

As has become a tradition, the 4 Years From Now congress will feature a whole range of different events and activities belonging to other entrepreneurship and innovation sector programmes.

  • Reimagine Food Demo Day. The Prometheus acceleration programme, backed by the first centre specialised in food and technology, will showcase the presentations of its participants at 4YFN 2016.
  • French Tech Hackathon. This is a startup competition to demonstrate the potential of French digital entrepreneurs, promoted by La French Tech, a support, promotion and consultancy programme for entrepreneurs and startups.
  • Startupbootcamp Demo Day. The acceleration programme focused on the IoT and Smart Data that began in Barcelona in early December will also present its projects at 4YFN.
  • World Finals of the Global Mobile Innovators Tournament. The winner of the first international competition for startups, backed by IBM and 4YFN, will benefit from the visibility and media exposure provided by the conference.

The event will also feature specialised programming in the field of mHealth, in collaboration with the European Connected Health Alliance, which will present its initiatives to exhibit the potential of mobile technology in the healthcare sector. And, for the third year, it will welcome the participants of the Imagine Express programme, a hackathon on a train that will travel from Barcelona to Paris to London, and back, from 19 to 22 February.

Culminating the congress, of course, will be its centrepiece event: the 4YFN Awards. You are still in time to register your startup.

The third edition of 4 Years From Now will be held from 22 to 25 February, 2016 in collaboration with the GSMA Mobile World Congress. Tickets now available at a special price.
