Mobile Talks “Congress Experience”, a Mobile World Capital initiative that took place during the Mobile World Congress, tackled the issue of identifying and managing digital talent in Barcelona with a double session titled ‘People&Talent’. On this occasion, the debate space was attended by Ivanna Di Pietro, Talent Manager for ISDI, and Ricard Castellet, CCO for Barcelona Tech City, who both shared their experience and vision concerning talent with Roc Fagés, a partner of ARM1314 and 100x100Net and the moderator for this cycle of sessions.
During the first talks of the day, Ivanna di Pietro, from ISDI, presented, from the perspective of a native school of digital business, what skills and knowledge are in line with this new innovation ecosystem, skills and knowledge that are necessary to face our current social and business transformations. In reference to this, Ivanna di Pietro stated that “digital competencies must be transversal to the whole organization. Gaining strength in digital domains means understanding digital business in order to know how one must approach the customer.” During the session, di Pietro also stressed how important it is to succeed in digital talent management at a global level and, more specifically, in the city of Barcelona.
In the afternoon, Ricard Castellet, from Barcelona Tech City, a technological and digital association in Barcelona, shared his broad vision of both the Barcelona and international ecosystems. Regarding this topic, Castellet highlighted Barcelona’s positioning as a key player in identifying talent and generating new opportunities. “Barcelona is the ideal place to start a business because it has digital talent, an entrepreneurial tradition and a business culture that allows us to validate new business models.”
The day ended with a networking space where the speakers and the public had the opportunity to chat together during a coffee break about the session’s key topics.
