A few months away from the third edition of 4 Years From Now, the world’s largest forum for mobile startups, and a Mobile World Capital Barcelona event, plans for the conference’s different sections are being finalised. The lecture series, one of the centrepieces around which the event revolves, is no exception.
As at the 2015 edition, the talks are structured into three different itineraries or tracks: Disrupted by Mobile, the Internet of Things and Digital Media. Some of the most innovative leaders in the technology industry have already announced that they will share their experience on stage with 4YFN attendees.
These will include Nicola Mendelsohn, vice-president of EMEA at Facebook and the company’s highest-ranking executive outside the US. After 20 years in the creative advertising industry, at Facebook Nicola oversees the company’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Since joining the company in 2012 she has observed how people have gradually stopped using computers to communicate, now doing so mostly through mobile devices.
Another new face at 4YFN 2016 will be Renaud Visage, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Eventbrite, a company that allows one to plan, promote and market any experience or activity. Launched in 2006 in San Francisco, today it is present in 14 countries and 7 languages.
John O’Donovan, the Chief Technology Officer for Dow Jones, has also confirmed that he will be there for 4YFN. With the experience of having been responsible for technological strategy at the Financial Times, and having developed solutions for companies like the BBC, Sky, MSN and for the London Olympic Games Organising Committee, among many others, in 2015 O’Donovan joined one of the world’s most important financial services companies.
Israel Ruiz, Executive Vice-President and treasurer at MIT; and Jeff Pulver, a serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Zula, join the list of speakers that in October 2015 was headlined by Jimmy Wales, Wikipedia co-founder and CEO of the social network TPO, Zack Weisfeld, General Manager of Microsoft Ventures; and René Rechtman, Head of International at Maker Studios, among others.
4 Years From Now will be held from 22 to 24 February under the auspices of the GSMA Mobile World Congress. In the coming weeks many more developments will be announced. To stay up to date, check out the event’s website regularly.
