Visit and chat with IT personalities

We had some really interesting visits a few days ago! After the 1st EUDAT conference, we invited some of its participants to visit our offices, and we had a really interesting conversation, first about the vision of the MWCapital, but also had interesting discussions about the Big Data, the connected car, or problems with law, privacy and security on future applications.

Amongst the visitors we were honoured with the presence of Robert Kahn, inventor of TCP and IP protocols, Francisco Ros, former Spain’s Secretary of State for Telecommunications, and currently board  member of Qualcomm, Chris Greer, from the NIST, who formerly worked in Science ant Technology Policy of the White House, and Fran Berman, computer scientist, and a leader in digital data preservation and cyber-infrastructure.

The European Data Infrastructure (EUDAT) aims to support a Collaborative Data Infrastructure which will allow researchers to share data within and between communities, as well as enable them to carry out their research effectively. The Consortium includes 25 partners from 13 countries. It  has recently celebrated its first conference, which took place in Barcelona.
