The Tech Hubs Overview 2025 results confirm that the tech hub ecosystem is solidifying as a key driver of economic growth and innovation. The region now hosts 160 active tech hubs, generating a total economic impact of €2.88 billion, with an average of €18 million per hub. This steady growth has also contributed to the creation of 6,191 new jobs in 2024

Catalonia continues to attract global tech investment. In 2024, 13 new hubs were established, backed by investments from Germany, the United States, China, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Japan. Companies are choosing Catalonia for its skilled talent pool, strong corporate presence, and exceptional quality of life.

Artificial Intelligence: a key technology in hub development

The fundamental technologies for software development, which enhance the design, functionality, and user experience of applications, are among the most prominent in the service portfolios of tech hubs. Meanwhile, the deep tech sector has a strong presence in Catalonia’s hubs, with 70% currently engaged in developing these advanced technologies—particularly artificial intelligence

In 2024, the most dynamic sectors were healthcare and technology product development, accounting for 43% of new job creation, with nearly 2,700 new hires. This trend highlights the growing importance of innovation in these fields and their strong future potential.

Catalonia hosts high-value tech hubs: decision-making and global services

With highly skilled talent and deep technological expertise, tech hubs in Catalonia are more than just operational centers. Nearly 70% of them are involved in strategic decision-making, and 71% provide global services, making them key players within their parent companies.
