Through the identification of technologies capable of addressing specific social challenges, we promote high-impact technological projects that actively engage civil society.

These projects generate knowledge in strategic areas and best practices within the digital domain, which we share globally from MWCapital.

Initiatives

mSchools Lab

mSchools Lab, an open innovation program by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and mSchools, aims to drive the improvement and digital transformation of education. Through public-private collaboration with educational institutions and the EdTech industry, we strive to identify, pilot, and evaluate digital solutions that address the real needs of the educational community. We promote equitable and inclusive learning through the safe, healthy, and transformative use of technology, catalyzing the participation of key stakeholders to generate a positive impact.

Digital Future Society

Digital Future Society is a global program promoted by the Spanish Government’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation in collaboration with Mobile World Capital. It connects academics, governments, businesses, and civil society members with the aim of understanding and addressing the ethical, social, and economic challenges of digital transformation.

‘Àrees Digitals’

As an evolution of the ‘5G Areas’ project, this initiative aims to bring the potential of Advanced Digital Technologies (ADT) across Catalonia and propose pilot projects that adapt them to different local and sectoral needs. It is an initiative driven by the Generalitat de Catalunya, supported by MWCapital and the i2CAT Foundation.

By detecting trends and good practices at a national and international level, MWCapital works to be a radar for technological trends and innovative digital transformation processes that generate a positive impact on society and the economy to make it more inclusive, equitable and responsible.

MWCapital has the goal of transferring the opportunities and technological innovations detected to a specific geographical or sectoral area in order to test them and generate a positive impact that allows us to combat current digital divides, challenges or social, environmental or governance needs that are defined.

The goal: to turn this into pilots that are scalable, permanent and have an impact due to the innovations they entail and the technology they apply.

MWCapital consolidates the production of strategic knowledge and is committed to developing five periodic reports that address the central issues of the Foundation’s activity. Some of them have a track record of years evaluating the impact of digitalization on certain sectors of society and the economy, others will see the light of day during 2024 for the first time.

Among others, we developed the iconic talent reports that have consolidated MWCapital as a benchmark in digital talent. These are the Digital Talent Overview and the Tech Hubs Overview.
