Family Day 2026

On the occasion of the opening of Invisible Technology at Palau Robert, an exhibition created to mark the 20th anniversary of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), offering a retrospective of the last two decades to help understand the profound technological transformation we have experienced, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation would like to invite you to the Family Day event and to take part in “The Alignment: Twenty Years of Mobile Technology in a Single Moment”, an educational and immersive workshop specially designed for families with children aged 6 to 13.

With the aim of bringing the concepts and reflections of Invisible Technology closer to all audiences, we have designed this experience to discover, in a participatory and intergenerational way, how mobile technology has transformed the way we live, work and connect with one another.

“The Alignment” is an innovative educational workshop that explores two decades of mobile phone evolution as experienced through the MWC, bringing them closer to families through emerging technologies that are redefining the way we learn: artificial intelligence, educational robotics, and 3D printing. Based on the idea that great innovations are like eclipses — trajectories that align at a precise moment to illuminate what was previously unseen — families will be able to relive some of the major technological milestones of these twenty years: from the launch of the first Android mobile phone, the HTC Magic (2009), to the global rollout of 5G.

This journey culminates with artificial intelligence, the driving force behind the latest major technological leap and the central focus of many of the workshop’s activities, together with robotics and 3D printing.

What will you take away from this experience?

This workshop promotes technological literacy, critical thinking, and awareness of shared progress, connecting history, technology, and intergenerational participation in a transformative experience.
