The main challenges of industrial digitalization, focal point of the second day of ‘Congress Experience’

Day two of ‘Congress Experience’ at the MWCapital stand, a series of fast talk sessions under the heading ‘Disrupting Industries’ that delved into the digitalization processes and business opportunities born from the new digital age. The morning session counted with the participation of Xavier Tuduri, CEO of ServiZurich, and Matteo Fermi, Head of Mobile for CaixaBank Payments; Christian Rodríguez, CEO and founder of ByHours, did his part in the afternoon.

Tuduri explained during the course of the event how ServiZurich successfully positioned itself in the insurance field, offering innovative solutions and high-quality tech solutions to support and contribute to the attainment of Zurich’s business objectives.

Regarding Barcelona’s innovation ecosystem, he stated that “the ecosystem is very important for our company because it helps us create new high-added-value solutions and to innovate more dynamically.”

In the same session, thanks to Matteo Fermi from CaixaBank Payment, the audience also got to learn about the new digital challenges and transformation process that the banking sector is facing through the case in point of the new mobile payment solutions.

Fermi highlighted that “contactless payments will soon allow us to pay anywhere and that will change our life habits and consumer habits. That is why our goal is to make the client feel comfortable with any kind of payment method and to integrate all possible options into a unique and safe experience.”

Another industry that’s discovering new business opportunities thanks to digitalization is the hotel sector. Christian Rodríguez, from byHours, presented his innovative and transformative vision of private businesses, in which new opportunities arise thanks to the ecosystem’s tools and technological potential.

Regarding the evolution of the hotel sector, Christian Rodríguez claimed that “the future of the sector depends on the specialization and improvement of the client’s experience thanks to the use of new technologies. Attracting clients is becoming increasingly expensive and, for that reason, we need a real value proposition or our negotiating capacity with third parties will become minimal.”
