Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital) has presented the programme for the second Mobile Week Barcelona, an initiative that merges art, science and technology to create spaces for collective reflection on the digital transformation and its impact on modern society. The Future of today, the theme for the initiative, which places the general public at the centre of the technological revolution.
Between 15 and 24 February, a week before the GSMA Mobile World Congress, mWeekBCN has organised a broad programme with more than 120 free activities at around 90 sites throughout the city. Lectures, talks, discussions, art exhibitions, workshops and children’s events, among other activities, will provide a chance to examine the challenges, limits and opportunities of the digital transformation.
The project has consolidated its position since the first time it was held, in February 2017, when it exceeded all expectations and brought in over 2,000 visitors to 30 activities. mWeekBCN 2018 has grown and designed an offer involving over 100 speakers, 20 artists, 180 partners and an expected attendance of over 16,000 people.
The programme is divided into four areas of activity: mWeek TALKS, a discussion forum reflecting on how the digital revolution influences people’s lives; mWeek LAB, culture, technology, robotics and science workshops; mWeek KIDS, activities for all the family; and mWeek GALLERY, which consists of guided tours of innovation spaces, art exhibitions, film sessions and the exhibition ‘The Future of Today’ with 10 works from emerging artists that mix art and technology. The exhibition can be seen at the Disseny Hub Barcelona from 15 February to 4 March.
