The Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation, through 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the global business platform for the growing community of technology startups, promotes the European project NGI MOVE to create the next Internet generation. NGI MOVE, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020, has officially kicked off its activity during this month in Graz (Austria) and counts with the collaboration of experts from Barcelona, Aarhus (Denmark) and Graz.
During the next 18 months, NGI Move will drive a serial of events across Europe to engage researchers, startups, entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers and social innovators in co-creating a human-centric internet (so that technology integrated the human procedures) and based on freedom, transparency and inclusion, the principal European values.
Barcelona will be the first city hosting an NGI salon, by the hand of 4YFN and Mobile World Capital Barcelona. The event will be held in the Smart City Expo World Congress, celebrated from 14th to 16th November in the catalan city. This salon will invite different actors of the public, private and academic sector who will contribute with their knowledge to reflect how will data privacy work in our future cities in light of the new European legislation.
4YFN Barcelona 2018 helds the NGI Awards
To promote effort from startups, entepreneurs and reserchers that contributes to design the next generation of the Internet, the NGI MOVE launches at 4YFN Barcelona 2018, taking place from the 26th to 28th of February, the first NGI Awards edition. The awards will acknowledge the contribution of ideas and projects able to better shape the internet of the future.
NGI MOVE joins the NGI project group aiming to support the European Commission in launching the NGI Flagship in 2021, which seeks to create an Internet that promotes better services, more intelligence and a major participation. Manfred Aigner, Dissemination Managing director of NGI, is convinced that “If we are able to mobilise more of the best researchers and thinkers in Europe, we will be able to create a better internet for the people.
