Mobile World Capital Barcelona launches GoingDigital, an educational programme for sharing knowledge on digitalisation aimed at professionals, managers and business owners. GoingDigital offers a space that allows the participants to acquire a cross-functional vision of the impact of digital transformation and the future of their respective industries.
The programme studies how evolution, clearly influenced by the latest technology, transforms society, the economy and the relationship between citizens and companies in any sector. With this aim, GoingDigital has joined forces with renowned experts in digital innovation, cutting-edge technological trends and entrepreneurship from IESE, ESADE, RocaSalvatella and Synergic Partners of the Telefónica group, who will offer the students collaborative educational experiences to take a closer look at the relationships between citizens, companies and technology.
The programme’s philosophy is based on the need to train active professionals carefully and effectively and create a community to safeguard the competitiveness of strategic sectors undergoing digital transformation. Along these lines, Aleix Valls, the CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, states that “GoingDigital is not intended for teaching, but rather for allowing professionals to learn together based on the challenges that have arisen from the digitalisation of society. This will only be possible if they lose their fear of change, work in a space that is ideal for sharing experiences and have the support of top-level experts.”
GoingDigital: inspiration and creativity
Initially, Mobile World Capital Barcelona offers 10 educational experiences with different formats that will combine Masterclass sessions with workshops and group activities. Moreover, participation in these sessions will be complemented by case studies and guided visits to 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress.
The GoingDigital training programme contemplates 3 different levels of specialisation: the first is shorter and focuses on discovering how to make the most of specific technologies that have an impact on society and the economy; the second offers a more specialised vision of digital transformation processes and their influence on specific sectors; the third and longest level examines different subjects related to boosting digital transformation in companies.
Big Data, consumer experience, the world of retail 2.0, blockchain, digital identity and corporate venturing will be the main subjects tackled by these first courses. Among the first sessions we find: The power of data, a 360º view, on 14 and 15 February; The digital experience revolution and The dawn of a new industrial age, given in partnership with ACCIÓ; Blockchain: the distributed revolution on 30 and 31 March; Digital identity: connecting people to services and business, scheduled for April 2017; and Corporate Venturing planned for summer 2017. The full schedule is available on the programme’s website: www.goingdigital.es.
The diversity of the offer stems from the team of professionals and experts that will take part in the different experiences that have been planned. Among them, Alejandro Codina, Chief Digital Officer of MediaMarkt and one of the corporate experts taking part in the programme, states that, “it is our past experiences that lead us to make future decisions and we need spaces like GoingDigital that allow us to learn quickly, share and reflect on the changes we are seeing with our peers”.
