Mobile World Capital Barcelona creates Mobile Talks, a discussion forum on digital transformation that will analyse the latest trends in areas such as innovation, mobile identity and the impact of new digital solutions on traditional business models. The programme includes a series of bi-monthly forums, to alternate between Barcelona and Madrid, aimed at professionals in the digital sphere, entrepreneurs, investors, institutions and R&D directors at large corporations.

The first Mobile Talks will take place on October 11 in the Mobile World Centre (Barcelona) auditorium, and analyse the potential of corporate venturing as an innovation tool for large corporations. The event will examine in depth how companies and multinationals face their digital transformation processes, and how they can develop and adopt new innovation methods through collaboration with startups. Registration to attend this first event is already available through the website (mobiletalks.es).

The forum will feature presentations by Gregor Gimmy, founder and director of BMW Startup Garage, the BMW Group’s incubator for automotive startups in the seed stage; Dr Jens Pippig, founder and director of the accelerator ProSiebensSat.1; and Jonathan Tudor, ventures director of Castrol InnoVentures, the investment wing of the energy company British Petroleum. After their remarks a discussion will begin making it possible to share international experiences with the local business community.

Scheduled programme

Mobile World Capital Barcelona, along with RETINA, the Ibero-American forum on the digital era, has planned three more forums, to take place in Barcelona and Madrid in the coming months. Specifically, in November of 2016 the first Mobile Talks will be held in Madrid, with corporate venturing in the spotlight. In 2017 the events scheduled will address the latest technological trends: the first will be in Barcelona and focus on the potential of Mobile Identity (January 2017); the second will take place in Madrid and evaluate how digital transformation impacts traditional business models.

Through this programme organisers seek to successfully establish the first forum for discussion and reflection aimed at the business community to examine in depth the state of digital innovation in our country. Mobile Talks comes about, in addition, with the intention of replicating this format over the course of the year in other major cities, to share the potential of digital transformation with the entire industry and services in general, bringing together large corporations, institutions, SMEs and Spanish and international entrepreneurs.
