For 33 hours Mobile World Centre will host over 30 work teams

The first edition of the “Instant Banking Hack Day” organized by Banco Sabadell, in conjunction with Mobile World Capital Barcelona, began today at 10:00 am at the Mobile World Centre. A 100 people who signed up for this computer programmers’ marathon are already working on the development of new Web and mobile applications to improve the user experience in the banking and financial industry.

Participants have the chance to access, in an exclusive first, the API of the bank’s services, an exact replica of the entity’s banking services, allowing them to develop their projects in the most realistic surroundings possible.

Over the course of the day participants will work on their projects on teams and will have access to mentoring sessions with renowned professionals, like Xavier Verdaguer, founder of the Imagine Creativity Center in San Francisco; Marek Fodor, co-founder of Atrapalo; and the director of the Mobile Marketing Association, Dionís Guzman.

The teams, totaling 30, will work all night to finish their prototypes before 2:00 pm on Sunday, 12 October. In the evening the participants will present their work, and at 6:30 pm the judging panel will announce the winning teams of the first edition of the “Instant Banking Hack Day.” The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on the Web http://www.bancsabadell.tv/en-directo/.

The team winner of the “Instant Banking Hack Day” will be rewarded with the development of his project, enjoy a fast track into Banc Sabadell’s BStartup 10 program, and receive tickets to the second edition of 4YFN, the international entrepreneurship forum organized by Mobile World Capital Barcelona. He will also receive a €5,000 grant for the development of the project at the Incubio incubator, and an advanced training course in secure development at Deloitte’s CyberSOC Academy, valued at €2,500.
