MWCapital at MWC25

Mobile World Capital Barcelona has an exhibition space at MWC Barcelona designed to present the most relevant technological trends and position Barcelona as a global innovation hub. In order to maximise the relationship between the congress and the city, the foundation’s annual proposal, which is presented for the first time at the congress, is transferred to all MWCapital projects.

This year, MWCapital’s stand at MWC 2025 focuses on Society 5.0, a people-centric model that integrates technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT to improve people’s quality of life and address challenges such as sustainability, social inclusion, and the aging population.

In this framework, we present solutions in an urban context of efficient logistics and transport, automation and equal access to opportunities, exploring how technology influences our daily habits and behaviours.

Barcelona Innovation Valley Alliance (BIVA) was created with the mission of promoting an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of reference on a global scale, connecting talent, companies, institutions and research in a dynamic and competitive environment. This initiative brings together 32 key players in the Barcelona region, with a prominent role for Sant Cugat del Vallès, a city that has established itself as a strategic hub for entrepreneurship, technology and innovation.
In this presentation in the framework of the Mobile World Congress, we will present the value proposition of BIVA, highlighting its potential as a pole of attraction for startups, investors and large corporations.
In addition, we will explore how the territory offers the ideal conditions for innovation, technological development and the creation of new projects with global impact.
The event will also feature a round table, where representatives from HP, Tech Barcelona and GFT will discuss the innovation ecosystem in Catalonia, the ambition and projection of BIVA, and the role of Sant Cugat as a geostrategic enclave for the development of global hubs. The conversation will offer a vision of the future on the opportunities and challenges facing the territory to consolidate itself as a pole of attraction for companies and international talent.

Technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, with sustainability and innovation intertwining more than ever. This panel will focus on how we can develop the talent and skills required to drive the next generation of technological breakthroughs – whether in AI, cloud, 5G/6G, or renewable energy. We’ll discuss strategies for creating an ecosystem where people from all walks of life can integrate and thrive in tech roles that contribute to both the digital and sustainable future we all aim to create. What are the key skills we need to foster, and how do we ensure technology careers are accessible, impactful, and future-ready?

This EU-projects session is designed as a ‘pop-up platform’ to foster collaboration opportunities among a wide variety of organisations that operate at European level. By putting a special focus on upcoming opportunities under Horizon Europe calls and recent E.C. updates, participants will be able to 1) introduce their organizations by sharing their mission, expertise, and goals; 2) pitch their innovative projects, thus helping them to maximise their impact and outreach; and 3) expand their ecosystem, finding complementary partners and like-minded professionals in a friendly and collaborative environment.
