The space will combine content, networking, and technological experiences around key sectors such as digital health, sustainability, and energy efficiency, with the participation of Ephion Health and UniSCool, two of the startups supported by The Collider, Mobile World Capital’s innovation and venture building program. Throughout the event, the stand will host talks, meetups, and interactive demos, offering a dynamic environment to discover projects, exchange ideas, and connect with the innovation ecosystem.
This content session will offer an in-depth exploration of two technological experiences at the 4YFN stand of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, driven by its spin-off ecosystem. The event will open with a welcome address by Albert Mascarell, Director of Technology Transfer at Mobile World Capital Barcelona, at the stand itself, and will continue with presentations from the spin-offs Ephion Health and Uniscool, who will personally share the origin, development, and application of their solutions. During the session, it will be explained how Ephion Health applies AI to transform clinical observations based on patients’ mobility into objective data, and how Uniscool addresses the energy challenge of AI through advanced liquid cooling systems for data centers. At the end, attendees will be able to experience both technologies firsthand through a live demo.
Join us for a pitching session featuring 10 of Catalonia’s most innovative companies, selected as Catalonia Exponential Leaders by ACCIÓ. From breakthrough technologies to bold business models, these companies are redefining industries and accelerating the next wave of technological and business transformation.
We will address questions about how corporations are currently innovating and how to collaborate with startups, what the budgets are, and how pilot projects are structured. We will also discuss the Venture Client collaboration process with startups.
Private gathering aimed at fostering synergies and sharing experiences among scientist-entrepreneurs from the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation portfolio.
Matchmaking Session: First meeting between the scientific teams participating in the team formation phase and their potential CEO co-founders. The session will be moderated by Consuelo Rebolledo, who will welcome participants and present the structure of the dynamics. Each team should have a table and chairs (there are 7 teams). The goal is for each team to have conversations with two entrepreneurs (each conversation lasting 25 minutes — it’s like dating, but not speed dating). The entrepreneurs will rotate according to the moderator’s instructions.
There are 1,007 active deep-tech spin-offs in Spain. Behind each one lies a difficult decision: taking science out of the lab and turning it into real impact.
The session will include the presentation of the report focusing on people rather than data, testimonials from deep-tech spin-off founders and an institutional interview on national missions and the future of the ecosystem.
Europe is consolidating some of the most sophisticated deep-tech accelerator programmes in the world, combining scientific talent, specialised capital and strong industry connections.
This session will analyse how they select projects, reduce technological risk and facilitate the transition from lab to market through venture building models and university-industry collaboration.
Exclusive meeting within the framework of 4YFN bringing together Catalonia’s R&D&I Networks to celebrate the continuity of the initiative and foster new strategic agreements and collaborations.
The session will bring together leaders from EIC/EISMEA, CDTI, FundingBox, EurA and Sploro to share practical insights on what is changing in Europe’s scale-up landscape, particularly around EIC Accelerator updates, faster funding pathways, cascade funding/OpenFunding mechanisms and what founders must do to execute without slowing down.
The EAE TOP10 Women Entrepreneurs of Catalonia ranking aims to give visibility to ten women and their projects, strengthen connections with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and promote female talent as a driver of equality and sustainability.
This year we celebrate the fourth edition of this recognition, which highlights the innovative capacity, leadership, and impact of women entrepreneurs in Catalonia. An initiative that, in addition to showcasing inspiring projects, creates strategic networking spaces to generate new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
At the MWCapital stand, we will hold the award ceremony honoring this year’s 10 winners of the TOP10 Women Entrepreneurs of Catalonia, in an event that will publicly recognize their talent, trajectory, and contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The session will explore how women-led talent and ideas can move from STEAM pathways into scalable ventures, highlighting the role of innovation ecosystems and investment in turning projects into sustainable growth.
High-level conversation on the women shaping the next era of technology, from artificial intelligence and quantum computing to green energy systems. The session will explore how priorities are set, how strong teams are built and how breakthroughs are delivered with real impact across markets and communities.

We’ve spent trillions building networks. Yet 2.6 billion people — and more than half the world’s schools —remain offline. How do we turn that underutilized infrastructure into measurable impact? Giga, the UNICEF–ITU initiative, has mapped school connectivity in over 40 countries, with 135,000+ schools sharing real-time connectivity data openly with the world. Connectivity Credits build on this foundation by turning verified, live connectivity into a tradable unit of digital infrastructure delivery. Like carbon credits, they reward outcomes — in this case, they reward ISPs for every day a school, health center, or underserved community stays online. By transforming internet access into a measurable, exchangeable asset, Connectivity Credits lay the foundation for a new market in digital public infrastructure — where capital, capacity, and incentives flow toward verified impact. The goal is simple but systemic: make keeping communities online not just a social good, but an economically rewarded outcome at global scale.

Globally, 2.2 billion people remain offline It is estimated that half of the world’s schools are disconnected. Closing this gap is a major infrastructure challenge that demands scalable, commercially viable solutions.
The inaugural Giga Accelerator cohort of nine startups has been working on a diverse set of solutions to accelerate school connectivity: solar-powered last-mile connectivity and portable digital classrooms, ISP-as-a-Service models, community energy + Wi-Fi hubs, AI-enabled network management, and open-source platforms for IoT and infrastructure monitoring.
From this cohort, four will take the stage at Giga Accelerator Demo Day to pitch their solutions to scale connectivity in real-world conditions.
The Giga Accelerator Programme is collaborating with the Mobile World Capital Barcelona and other key local entrepreneurship institutions to connect founders with governments, investors, and industry leaders to help turn pilots into sustained deployments.
Giga is a partnership between the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) . Our mission is to support governments in connecting every school to the Internet, turning education into a gateway to information, opportunity and choice.
