MWCapital at MWC25

MWCapital at MWC25

03/MAR/2025 - 06/MAR/2025
Fira Gran Via

Mobile World Capital Barcelona has an exhibition space at MWC Barcelona designed to showcase the most relevant technological trends and position Barcelona as a global innovation hub. At MWC25, the foundation presents “Living in Tech”, an immersive experience that demonstrates how the coexistence between people and technology is transforming key sectors such as mobility, education, and health. This annual initiative, presented for the first time at the congress, extends to all MWCapital projects, strengthening the connection between the event and the city.

This year, MWCapital’s stand at MWC 2025 focuses on Society 5.0, a people-centric model that integrates technologies such as AI, big data, and IoT to improve people’s quality of life and address challenges such as sustainability, social inclusion, and the aging population.

In this framework, we present solutions in an urban context of efficient logistics and transport, automation and equal access to opportunities, exploring how technology influences our daily habits and behaviours.

Artificial intelligence and data science are revolutionizing the way we understand and improve the world around us. In this roundtable, in collaboration with CaixaBank, we will explore how these advanced technologies integrate into our daily lives to promote more sustainable habits. Through a specific use case—a carbon footprint calculator developed by the bank—we will discover how this initiative enables users to measure the environmental impact of their consumption and receive personalized recommendations to reduce it, optimizing resources and actively contributing to a more sustainable future.

Advances in artificial intelligence, mobility and autonomy are bringing robots to a tipping point. In the next five years, their integration into various sectors will be more visible and transformative than ever before.
This impact will be reflected mainly in three major areas:
  • Labour market transformation
  • Social interaction and acceptance
  • Ethics and regulation
In this roundtable with robotics experts we will discuss their impact on society, which will be reflected mainly in three main areas: labour market transformation, social interaction and acceptance, and ethics and regulation. These changes not only pose technical and regulatory challenges, but also open the door to a redefinition of the relationship between humans and machines. The key will be to strike a balance between innovation and responsibility, ensuring that the arrival of robots in society is beneficial and sustainable.

Barcelona Innovation Valley Alliance (BIVA) was created with the mission of promoting an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of reference on a global scale, connecting talent, companies, institutions and research in a dynamic and competitive environment. This initiative brings together 32 key players in the Barcelona region, with a prominent role for Sant Cugat del Vallès, a city that has established itself as a strategic hub for entrepreneurship, technology and innovation.
In this presentation in the framework of the Mobile World Congress, we will present the value proposition of BIVA, highlighting its potential as a pole of attraction for startups, investors and large corporations.
In addition, we will explore how the territory offers the ideal conditions for innovation, technological development and the creation of new projects with global impact.
The event will also feature a round table, where representatives from HP, Tech Barcelona and GFT will discuss the innovation ecosystem in Catalonia, the ambition and projection of BIVA, and the role of Sant Cugat as a geostrategic enclave for the development of global hubs. The conversation will offer a vision of the future on the opportunities and challenges facing the territory to consolidate itself as a pole of attraction for companies and international talent.
