Talent Arena is here, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona event at MWC Barcelona 2024 that revolves around talent and digital skills, offering a platform for both competition and collaboration. It is not only a networking event for the professional technology sector, but also a space to address the gap between skilled professionals and today’s digital landscape.

The event features a variety of activities designed to connect talent with industry leaders in an environment of collaboration and continuous professional growth. In addition, influential technology fields such as machine learning, software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, microchips, AI and telecommunications will be highlighted by experts and ICT professionals from TOP technology companies.

Talent Arena stands out as the hub of digital talent within MWC24, with a 48-hour Hackathon, presentations from 30+ keynote speakers, 18 technology exhibition stands and 13 workshops with hands-on learning application.

Artificial Intelligence: Risks, Control Measures and Regulation

This 90-minute workshop will explore the emerging challenges associated with the rapid advances in artificial intelligence. We will address the key applications of AI, the fundamental pillars underpinning it and, most importantly, present a comprehensive framework for controlling risks associated with the implementation of this technology. In addition, we will take a close look at the “AI Act”, the first European-led global effort to regulate artificial intelligence.

Get Professional with Arduino on the Edge: from smart sensors to cloud-connected industrial computers

Explore the capabilities of Arduino Pro – from traditionally-coded boards to embedded machine learning systems in industrial settings. Dive into communication and connection to the cloud, experiment with boards and guided testing, and create your own mini-projects to apply what you’ve learned.

Hackathon

The goal of the Open Gateway Hackathon is to foster innovation and collaboration in the telecommunications field by encouraging participants to explore and leverage the potential of Open Gateway APIs. The competition seeks:

•  Use Case Generation: promote the creation and development of innovative and practical use cases using the APIs.
•  Collaboration and Learning: Encourage collaboration between developers, business specialists and other professionals.
•  Promotion of Innovative Solutions: Identify solutions that can contribute to the advancement of the telecommunications industry and improve the quality of life of users.
•  Knowledge Dissemination: To facilitate the dissemination of information and knowledge about Open Gateway, its capabilities and potential.

The competition focuses on the creation of a use case per team using the APIs available in the Open Gateway platform. To facilitate this process, the organization will form teams that will ideally be composed of four different profiles: front-end, back-end, full-stack and business.

Program:

9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Breakfast and registration
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Challenge briefing and choosing teams
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Development phase (mentors will be available if needed)
2p.m. to 3 p.m.: Lunch (included in the Hackathon)
3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.: Development phase (mentors will be available if needed)
6.30 p.m.: Close of the first day
