• Facial recognition, virtual and augmented reality, the metaverse and immersive music will be some of the experiences that families will be able to try.
• The activity is part of the “Feel the Technology” project, which kicked off at MWC Barcelona 2023 and has visited Shanghai, Las Vegas and Frankfurt, among other cities, with the aim of humanising technology and facilitating access to digital innovation.
Barcelona, December 27, 2023.
Mobile World Capital Barcelona participates for the first time in Festival de la Infància that takes place from December 27 to 31 at Fira de Barcelona Montjuic. Through the Feel The Technology project, MWCapital seeks to provide a personalized and gamified experience that showcases services based on disruptive technologies such as immersive reality, the metaverse or artificial intelligence that can inspire attendees and generate debate through the relationship between the digital world and the physical world. In other words, humanizing technology and facilitating access to digital innovation in a playful, simple, and educational way. For this reason, this experience has travelled throughout 2023 to cities such as Shanghai, Las Vegas and Frankfurt, among others.
During the Festival de la Infància, which is held at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue, MWCapital will have an exhibition space with a sensory tour that aims to continue generating curiosity among children and unite the digital world with the physical world. The tour begins with the automatic creation of a photorealistic avatar by each visitor using facial recognition; followed by a phygital tasting, in which the participant will start a sensory journey with augmented reality to taste a chocolate created by the Roca Brothers (Celler de Can Roca-Casa Cacao). Afterwards, there will also be an olfactory tour where children and their families will be able to guide their avatar through 6 emblematic places in Barcelona, each with a different scent created by a master perfumer of Puig AirParfum. The proposal ends with a listening experience by Silent DJ, an activity that will allow the participant to live a musical experience in a 360-degree environment.
In addition, participation in the Children’s Festival will be used to publicise other Mobile World Capital Barcelona projects aimed at the same age group, such as Smart Toys. This initiative mixes toys originally designed by Lagula Arquitectes and refurbished by MWCapital with traditional street games – such as pilla-pilla – to which it incorporates technology without screens to encourage play on the move.
