Barcelona City Council, GSMA and Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital) inaugurated today the fourth edition of BEAT BARCELONA, the official after-work space of MWC25. This year’s proposal places special emphasis on sustainability and digital art, and offers an exclusive environment for interaction between congress participants, professionals and visitors.
With the slogan ‘The place to be‘, BEAT BARCELONA 2025 reaffirms itself as the meeting point where networking, content, gastronomy and music converge in an atmosphere that reflects the essence of Barcelona as an open and innovative city.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism, Jordi Valls; and the CEO of MWCapital Barcelona, Francesc Fajula.
“Barcelona tries to do in this space what it does best, which is to connect people and build bridges, bridges between continents, bridges between companies and bridges between people who have the ability to know and understand technology as an instrument that can improve our capabilities,” Valls said.
The design of the space is inspired by a technological and dynamic city, integrating light art installations and sustainable structures. The BEAT BARCELONA content programme includes debates on technological solutions that improve social services, 5G deployment in the city, quantum technology and audiovisual robotics. In addition, this year the work and meeting areas have been expanded to encourage interaction between professionals in the sector.
Gastronomy and music will also be the protagonists of the space, with a selection of culinary proposals that highlight the gastronomic quality of the city and with a live music programme by DJs from Barcelona’s most iconic concert halls.
