Mobile World Capital Barcelona presents the Mobile Health Global portal, a leading Web forum dedicated to mobile and electronic health (eHealth and mHealth). Aimed at clinical and technological industry professionals, and citizens and patients too, the new website reflects the potential of mobile applications and solutions in the area of health management.
Mobile Health Global transmits in real time advances in the transformation of the health system. The transition from the current paradigm – in which more than 90% of resources are applied to cures – to a prevention-centric model requires the incorporation of eHealth and mobile health into the day to day of patients and professionals.
Over 200 applications for health management
Mobile Health Global contains a public catalogue of more than 200 apps, classified by areas of interest and pathology. A Mobile World Capital Barcelona team selects and analyzes them based on criteria of quality, safety and reliability, and all of them have been endorsed or recommended by prestigious organizations in the field of health.
The portal also offers interviews with groundbreaking leaders in the health sector, articles from invited firms, an international calendar of eHealth and mHealth sector events, and a glossary of sector terms. In addition, Mobile Health Global includes studies of current trends, key reports on the sector, surveys and research, and important opinions on the international scene.
Mobile Health Global is also an interactive communitycreation tool built around mobile health to generate discussions and content of value to the sector.
The mHealth competence centre forms part of Mobile World Capital Barcelona’s Programme of International Competence Centers (PCCI). mHealth works with a three-fold objective: to identify mobile technology opportunities in the provision of health services, to transform current healthcare models and processes, and promote the interoperability of health services in the field of mobile technologies and connectivity, building foundations that make it possible to integrate mobile health solutions.
