- On May 30 and 31, Valencia will host the European 5G technology meeting, where national and international experts will discuss the present and future of mobile technology.
- Federico Ruiz, head of ON5G, will present the Keynote “5G in Spain”, followed by a Pitch Session moderated by Eduard Martín, CIO and Director of Smart Connectivity at Mobile World Capital Barcelona.
- The event will also host the session “Connected 5G” where, as a round table, Eduard Martín, Federico Ruiz and Douglas Benítez, general manager of Qualcomm Iberia, will discuss the status of the standard of this technology and the challenges and challenges of the different players involved.

Valencia, May 30, 2022 – Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital) will participate in the second edition of V5G Days, the largest European event on 5G technology. Organized by the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), with the collaboration of MWCapital, AMETIC and the support of the Generalitat Valenciana and the City of Valencia, V5G Days 2022 will be held on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 May, under the theme “5G as a driver of digitization”.
During these two days, national and international experts from the scientific, business and administration fields will discuss the present and future of mobile technology. Thus, Eduard Martín, CIO and director of Smart Connectivity at MWCapital, together with Federico Ruiz, head of the National 5G Observatory, will present the current state of 5G deployment in Spain and the latest advances in 5G research and development with a Spanish stamp through debate sessions. They will also present different success stories of the use of this technology in the country, with the participation of relevant agents both in its deployment and in its development.
5G connectivity in Spain, to be discussed at V5G Days 2022
After the inauguration and institutional opening of the conference, a Keynote on 5G deployment in Spain will be given by Federico Ruiz, to then give way to a Pitch Session in which successful cases of 5G deployment will be explored. This session will be attended by leading figures in this technology such as Carlos Tejedor, Instrumentation & Smart Metering Specialist at Idrica, Juan Manuel Cambeiro, Head of Innovation at Telefónica, María Benítez, CMO of Robotnik, Sergi Figuerola, CTIO of Fundació i2CAT and CIO of 5G Barcelona, Juan Serrano, Mobile Radio Access Network Engineering Manager at Orange, Manuel Lorenzo, Director of Innovation at Ericsson, José Capote, Director of Marketing and Network Strategy at Huawei, and Daniel Barallat, Vodafone Spain IoT Country Manager.
This will be followed by the discussion session “Connected 5G. The evolution of the standard: where we are”, moderated by journalist Pilar Bernat, with the participation of Douglas Benítez, General Manager of Qualcomm Iberia, together with Federico Ruiz and Eduard Martín.
