Möbius organizes the Fantastic Adventure Night, an evening of immersive storytelling during the Leipzig Book Fair 2023

The Möbius consortium presents an exclusive evening event for 200 attendees to showcase an immersive fantasy storytelling at the Kunstkraftwerk venue during the Leipzig Book Fair on April 28th, 2023. The highlight of the event will be the 360-degree immersive installation, created by Franz Fischnaller inspired by Giulio Ravizza’s novel, Influence of Blue. This innovative installation will be a turning point to demonstrate how written fantasy stories can be presented in an audiovisual interpretation that fully immerses the audience.

The installation, Mobile Immersive Book Box (MIBB), will be displayed for the first time during the event in the large hall of the Kunstkraftwerk venue, where the fictitious story Influence of Blue will come to live in a projection space with its own 3D audio soundtrack, specifically composed to enhance the storytelling experience.

Influence of Blue is a fictitious story that follows the disappearance of the colour blue from our lives, leading to a dystopian world where people live boring and phlegmatic lives. The novel’s protagonist discovers that he is the only one who understands the implications of the loss of blue. The immersive show created by Franz Fischnaller, Former Media Creative Director of the Kunstkraftwerk (KKW), lasts for approximately 12 minutes, fully immersing viewers in the story’s fantastic world.

Attendees will be able to experience a cutting-edge immersion into literature and enjoy discussions about the future of the European book publishing industry, with several publishing houses in attendance; and also features a book reading by the author distinguished Giulio Ravizza and piano music by the composer Ruppert Huber.

Möbius is an initiative funded under the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme. Its consortium is composed by 11 partners from the EU: Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Eurecat, Interuniversitair Micro-Electronica Centrum vzm, KU Leuven Centre for IT and IP Law, ENOLL, FEP, Design Entrepreneurship Institute, Bookabook srl, MBV GmbH, IN2 digital Innovations GmbH and Kunstkraftwerk-Leipzig GmbH.

Visitors can also find the Möbius project’s booth at HALL 3 D400 at the Leipzig Book Fair from April 27th-30th, 2023. Here, visitors can discover and test Möbius Innovative Applications, web-based applications for publishers and writers to create interactive content, including the Prosumers Intelligence Toolkit, Möbius Creator, and Möbius Player. The event is open to the public.
