The Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation (MWCapital) is presenting an interactive experience at the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC25) focused on coexisting with robots and their impact on the digital society. Through a humanoid robot and an interactive screen, visitors can discover current and future applications of robotics in key sectors such as healthcare, security, education, and assistance. 

The experience, with Invelon as its technology provider, showcases how robotics is transforming the interaction between humans and technology, enhancing human capabilities, and facilitating adaptation to an increasingly digitalised society. 

MWC25 attendees will be able to interact with a humanoid robot through a ball game, as well as explore the potential of technology and the increasing presence of robots in various fields via an interactive screen. This will allow them to learn about current and future applications of robotics, including robotic surgeons, assistive robots for the elderly, surveillance patrols, and classroom teaching assistants. 

In a context marked by demographic and environmental challenges, robotics emerges as an essential technology for improving quality of life and efficiency in various fields, from industry and logistics to personal care. In this regard, it is estimated that by 2030, one in six people worldwide will be 60 years or older, highlighting the need for innovative solutions for care and well-being. 

The growth of projects and investments in the sector anticipates an increasing presence of robotics across different social and economic spheres. One such example is robot-assisted surgery, a market expected to exceed $14 billion by 2026. 

‘Living in Tech’ or how technology is redefining everyday life 

Mobile World Capital Barcelona presents “Living in Tech” at MWC25, an immersive showcase that explores technologies transforming daily life and shaping new urban environments. MWCapital’s stand becomes a large digital agora where visitors can interact with innovations that promote social well-being, sustainability, and economic growth, discovering the technologies of Society 5.0—a new paradigm where humanoid robots, supercomputers, and virtual assistants, among others, coexist naturally with humans to enhance quality of life. 

Through five interactive experiences, MWCapital demonstrates how technology serves as a tool to tackle major social challenges, particularly in urban environments, such as reducing the carbon footprint, improving public services, and assisting an ageing population.
