PIMEC and Mobile World Capital Barcelona promote digital transformation in Catalan SMEs

• The two organisations will create a working committee to define joint actions and initiatives along with a monitoring committee to track progress
• PIMEC will take an active role in MWCapital initiatives such as Mobile Lunch, Mobile Talks and GoingDigital, in addition to being present at events such as 4YFN and MWC 2018

PIMEC (the employers’ association for SMEs in Catalonia) and the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation (MWCapital), have signed a partnership agreement to promote and drive the digital transformation in Catalan SMEs.

PIMEC and MWCapital will join forces in creating a working committee formed by members of both organisations to define future actions and initiatives. Along the same lines, the organisations will also spearhead a monitoring committee that will meet three times a year to track the progress of the projects.

The agreement signed will allow PIMEC to play an active role in initiatives launched by the Foundation such as Mobile Lunch, the annual meeting for businesses and associations in the mobile community that is held on the Sunday prior to the opening of the mobile world congress, and Mobile Talks, the debate forum that centres on digital transformation to analyse the latest trends in innovation, mobile identity or the impact of new digital solutions on traditional business models. Moreover, the agreement also opens the door to PIMEC’s presence at 4YFN, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona global business platform for the growing community of technology startups and the GMSA Mobile World Congress 2018.

PIMEC will also encourage the active participation of its members in GoingDigital, the MWCapital educational experience programme aimed at business owners. PIMEC will use the content generated in these sessions to develop training courses with the aim of introducing small and medium-sized companies to the key concepts in digitalisation and new business models.
