The four selected startups will participate in a 17-week acceleration program and will have access to training by Wayra and 5G Barcelona mentors.
Flash Park, Ebre Drone, Hop Ubiquitous and Liip emerged as the four winning startups of the previous edition of the 5G ScaleUp Program.
Wayra, Telefónica’s open innovation hub, and 5G Barcelona, an initiative of Mobile World Capital Barcelona that seeks to position Barcelona as an innovative and open environment for the validation and adoption of 5G technology, have announced the 3rd call for the acceleration of startups developing solutions based on 5G tech such as NB-IoT, LTEM or 5G-NSA.
The 3rd edition of the 5G ScaleUp Program will see four startups selected for the 17 week long acceleration program. The latter includes virtual training from Wayra and 5G Barcelona mentors in areas such as finance, sales, marketing, investment, branding and pitching, as well as support, access to investors, networking spaces and visibility within the 5G ecosystem. The market potential and scalability of the solution will also be assessed.
The program’s mentors include Jorge Blasco, entrepreneur and investor, Franc Carreras, founder of Consejo Digital and ESADE collaborator, Katherine D’Amico, CEO of Swala Ventures and ESADE collaborator, Ismael Barros, director of Soluble Studio, Mercè Tell, managing partner of Nekko Capital, and Roland Umlauft, CEO of Bolibol.
The selected startups will gain access to The Thinx 5G Barcelona lab, an state-of-the-art 5G environment with radio access and specific 5G technologies as well as technical support for project testing.
Flash Park, Ebre Drone, Hop Ubiquitous and Liip were the four startups selected in the previous edition of the 5G ScaleUp Program. The call is now open on the website challenges.5gbarcelona.org/ until March 11.
