Technology, protagonist of the Cruïlla Festival in hand with Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Newtonlab Space and Pal Robotics

The festival will start on July 6th, where attendees will be able to discover the latest technology through a Holographic Meet & Greet and a humanoid social robot.

Barcelona, June 30, 2022. Next week, on July 6th, starts a new edition of the Cruïlla Festival. Once again, it presents a varied and high quality line-up with Rubén Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Duran Duran, Jack White, Residente, Hot Chip or Rigoberta Bandini, to name a few.

In addition, the festival also has many other proposals that make it a complete experience beyond its musical proposal. Comedy, art, photography, performances, sustainability and technology will be some of the protagonists of the Cruïlla that will complement the experience of the attendees.

In this sense, it is worth mentioning that, in this edition, the Cruïlla will host two technological projects: a Holographic Meet & Greet and ARI, a humanoid social robot.

Holographic Meet & Greet, a new technological experience with a Barcelona hallmark

Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCapital) and the Barcelona-based holographic laboratory Newtonlab Space will participate in the Cruïlla Festival with an audiovisual space that will offer a new experience called Holographic Meet & Greet. The proposal will allow attendees to take photos and videos with the life-size holograms of some of their favorite artists performing at the Festival and share the experience on their social networks.

"Attendees will be able to discover first-hand the holographic projects, a technology that we are convinced will revolutionize the entertainment and leisure industry, and that will become a communication tool for people," explains Eduard Martín, director of the MWCapital's Intelligent Connectivity program. "This space is one more commitment of the Foundation to continue collaborating in innovative projects that boost the sector," he adds

It is worth remembering that, in 2019, Cruïlla already became the first 5G festival in hand with Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Cellnex Telecom, ACCIONA, MASMOVIL and Qwilt, within the framework of the 5G Barcelona initiative, incorporating a 360º immersive virtual reality experience.

ARI, the humanoid robot among the attendees

The second proposal will be the presence at the Cruïlla Festival of ARI, a humanoid social robot created by Pal Robotics that will be interacting with the public during the days of the festival. ARI is expressive, and able to provide dynamic information, the perfect combination of service robotics and Artificial Intelligence in a single platform. Equipped with multiple sensors, it is able to generate data and obtain valuable information about its services. ARI can speak in different languages, display information and applications on the touch screen located in the chest to promote user interaction and multimedia content, in addition to having a person detection and vision recognition system.

With these two proposals, Cruïlla continues on its path of betting on bringing new technologies to its public, offering proposals that improve the experience and help to understand what the events of the future will be like.
