The New Era of Cybersecurity: Talent, Artificial Intelligence and Creativity

The New Era of Cybersecurity: Talent, Artificial Intelligence and Creativity

Cybersecurity has become a transversal, critical and strategic challenge for organisations across all sectors. In an increasingly automated and connected digital environment, the protection of systems, data and infrastructures has consolidated as one of today’s main technological challenges.

At Talent Arena 2025, several international experts reflected on the future of this discipline, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence, talent and creativity as transformative pillars of the new paradigm in digital security.

Cybersecurity as a Transversal and Strategic Necessity

From large corporations and governments to startups, all organisations depend on secure digital systems to operate. This has triggered a growing demand for professional profiles, both technical and strategic:

  • Technical: experts in ethical hacking, forensic analysis, incident response.
  • Strategic: professionals in digital governance, regulatory compliance and threat intelligence.

During his talk at Talent Arena 2025, cybersecurity specialist Marc Rivero stressed that this sector is accessible even to people without formal training. He recommended gaining hands-on experience in labs, taking part in CTF (Capture The Flag) competitions, attending specialised events and building a professional brand.

Rivero also underlined technological areas on the rise that will demand new profiles: artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT and quantum computing

Artificial Intelligence: Ally and Threat

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the rules of cybersecurity. It acts both as an attack and defence tool:

  • In attacks: automation of campaigns, generation of deepfakes, personalisation of fraud.
  • In defence: advanced threat detection, automated forensic analysis, real-time responses.

This duality raises significant ethical and technical challenges

  • How do we audit AI-based systems?
  • How do we manage algorithmic bias?
  • What happens if two AIs face off, one as attacker and the other as defender?

Expert Dorit Dor highlighted that a transition towards AI-first models is coming, where decisions, processes and even security responses are guided by intelligent systems — making security more complex, yet also more strategic. For this transformation to be effective, it is vital to begin now, iteratively, and carefully assess the tools available.

Innovating to Protect: Creativity in Digital Security

Beyond the purely technical approach, creativity and experimentation are gaining importance in the cybersecurity of the future.

Researcher Chema Alonso presented projects demonstrating the disruptive power of this hybrid vision:

  • A doll capable of cloning voices and controlling virtual assistants.
  • Systems that detect impostors in video calls through microexpressions
  • AI interfaces that understand sarcasm or communicate via covert channels

These examples show that the boundary between technology, psychology and security is increasingly blurred. They also anticipate the emergence of new disciplines, such as auditing autonomous interactions between intelligent systems

A More Human, Anticipatory and Integrated Cybersecurity

The final message from Talent Arena was clear: the cybersecurity of the future must be more human, intelligent and creative. It is no longer enough to protect: we must anticipate, understand and adapt.

In a scenario where artificial intelligence multiplies both risks and opportunities, experts emphasise three key pillars:

  • Invest in anticipatory security models
  • Train new generations of specialised talent.
  • Integrate cybersecurity into every aspect of digital life.

The collaboration between technology, talent and ethics will be fundamental to building a cybersecurity model that is solid, resilient and prepared for the challenges ahead.
