The two worst injured parties of the COVID-19 pandemic are undoubtedly the leisure and tourism sectors. The closure of non-essential activities, lockdowns, and border closures have been fatal for the economies related to these sectors.

Private leisure companies aren’t the only ones affected by COVID, many countries whose GDP relied on tourism as one of their main sources of income have also depleted.

How will these sectors, their businesses and the professionals who depend on them be restructured? Will they become a luxury that only a tiny part of the population will be able to enjoy? Will 5G and Virtual Reality be the escape route for those who won’t have the capacity to live these experiences?
