  • Openchip and MWCapital join forces to drive technology transfer and digital talent initiatives  

    15/January/2026 Mobile World Capital Barcelona and Openchip have signed a memorandum of understanding under which they commit to collaborating on projects aimed at advancing areas such as technology transfer, technology validation, industrial innovation and digital talent.  Through this agreement, MWCapital and the company specialised in the design of chips and systems for AI and supercomputing applications establish a commitment to explore joint opportunities and projects to foster the development of the technology ecosystem, including participation in Talent Arena 2026, among other initiatives.  According to MWCapital’s CEO, Francesc Fajula, the agreement with Openchip “opens up opportunities to further develop the Foundation’s projects alongside a leading company in our territory that is working on a technology that is key to the future of the ecosystem and to European technological sovereignty, such as microchip development.”  For his part, Openchip’s CEO, Cesc Guim, states that “this alliance allows us to align our passion and expertise in semiconductor technologies with the goal of strengthening European digital sovereignty. It is about creating the right ecosystem in which the best digital talent can develop Europe’s future AI and supercomputing infrastructures, leading this path from a technological capital such as Barcelona”.  Technology transfer in collaboration with Openchip  The aim of this collaboration is to…
