The digital transformation of the economy is increasing the demand for digital talent to cover both current positions and those that will be created in the future, especially those associated with the technologies in the 4th industrial revolution like artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, big data, and the Internet of Things. This demand for digital talent is currently unmet. Even though the number of digital professionals in Europe rose 4% in 2018, there is a shortage of digital talent globally, and the gap between supply and demand is only predicted to increase in the forthcoming years.
“Artificial intelligence is spearheading the next technological revolution, with the cloud as the change factor. Within this context, building a digital ecosystem with a diversity and inclusion of talent is a key factor in economic growth and the development of our society, and it will require intense public-private cooperation.”
