BeFuture! is a technology festival of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, which aims to transfer unique technological experiences that have been presented at MWC Barcelona to the public.

BeFuture! offers a series of activities and sessions that are free and open to the public to relay in a simple and dynamic way the technological solutions that will mark our future, as well as providing a space for reflection to involve the local ecosystem in the opportunities and impacts of techno-digital progress.

10:30    Talk: New digital skills in education

An informative session between the invited experts and the public that reflects on the challenges of education in the face of the technological changes that society is experiencing. From innovations in educational materials and supports, such as the use of tablets, computers or electronic whiteboards, to the impact of artificial intelligence and the presence of mobile phones in schools, this participatory session will focus on the positive aspects of digitalisation in education.

Speakers:

  • Marisa Vidal, Technical Engineer in Telecommunications, advisor in Digital Culture at the Territorial Education Services of Terres de l’Ebre
  • Carlos Santana, communicator and professor of Machine Learning & Data Science, is the creator of the YouTube channel 'Dot CSV’, which has accumulated more than 800,000 subscribers
  • Moderator: Chelo Fernández, Head of Observatory at Mobile World Capital Barcelona

12:00      Talk: New technologies for environmental conservation, risk prevention and people’s health

Another fascinating session that addresses how new technologies can be the main allies in promoting actions for the conservation of natural spaces and the prevention of risks, both environmental and for professionals who work in highly hazardous environments. The session will deal with topics such as reforestation and how technology can help us improve people’s health and reflect on the importance of putting technology at the service of society and the environment.

Speakers:

  • Salomé Valero, PhD in engineering leading the area of applications, data and artificial intelligence at Kyndryl Spain and Portugal
  • Pere Josep Jiménez, Technical Chemical Engineer and expert in projects for the management and conservation of the natural heritage of environmental education in the Ribera d’Ebre. Technical Director at the Aube association
  • Moderator: Sergi Sarri, Head of Digital Connectivity at Mobile World Capital Barcelona

'FEEL THE TECHNOLOGY’ Tour: Technology through the Senses

Come and enjoy the most impactful technological experiences:

  • Generate your avatar using facial recognition techniques that allow you to copy your face to build your photorealistic avatar.
  • Savour a taste experience with a digital journey (a mix of AR and VR with virtual reality glasses) where you can taste sweets and chocolates from the hand of the master chocolatier of El Celler de Can Roca.
  • Enjoy a listening experience that will transport you to an immersive virtual environment where you can enjoy music sessions in a new digital format.
  • Take part in the Plantiverse, a plant-dwelling metaverse that allows visitors to reflect on new forms of robotics and artificial intelligence and their impact on society.
